Functional Electrical Stimulation – Cycling

What is Functional Electrical Stimulation Cycling?

Our FES bike allows you to gain all of the benefits of FES, but in a cycling environment. The RehaMove allows you to cycle actively even if you have muscle paralysis or muscle weakness, on a stationary bike.

By activating the muscles in the legs or arms, you can gain immediate benefits through improved muscle tone, muscle power, reduced spasms and improved circulation. The added benefit of allowing you to increase your cardiovascular health is an excellent feature of this type of therapy.

Our FES bike is suitable for individuals with:

  • Spinal Cord Injury
  • Brain injury
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Stroke
  • Parkinson’s Disease
  • Cerebral Palsy

We are able to offer assessments for suitability for training with our FES bike. The assessment will tell us how much stimulation you require, and we will then be able to alter this as you progress with the training and achieve optimum results.
